Building an Individualized K-12 Threat Management Plan

Leverage experience conducting violence risk assessments to craft impactful strategies for long-term risk and threat management.

This one-day certification course focuses on how to build and implement a practical threat management plan following a violence risk assessment (VRA).

After completing our K-12 Structured Interview for Violence Risk Assessment (SIVRA) course, participants are equipped with the necessary skills to assess a broad spectrum of risks posed by individuals. This course not only broadens that skill set but also empowers practitioners to apply assessment findings effectively. Participants will learn how to manage and mitigate risks identified during the Violence Risk Assessment (VRA), enhance protective measures, and bolster an individual’s capacity to positively impact their school community.

Using case studies, this training offers deep insights into engaging with individuals post-VRA. NABITA’s expert faculty members will present interventions such as collaborating with non-clinical case managers, managing student discipline, and using BTAM and school employees as support resources.

In this course, you will:

  • Learn how to manage high risk individuals following a violence risk assessment
  • Learn specific strategies for decreasing risk factors and increasing protective factors for at risk individuals
  • Discuss how to engage various stakeholders and resources in the risk management process.

Who should attend?
